Fish Flinger Guide for 180k xp a week

Detailed link for the mini game, can be found at: Wiki link for fish flingers

Basics

1. The only sure shot way to play this mini game, and get all the four medals, is to play with a cc , preferably the the fish_fling1 cc in world 64.
2. You can play upto 10 games each week (unless you get extra ticket while playing).
3. A week starts from the first game you played with the 10 tickets. Say, if you used your first ticket on Monday, and exhausted all on Saturday, you get 10 more tickets next Monday.
4. Each game occurs every 90 mins, and starts about the same time in all worlds. You can check the time of next game with the lady outside the fish guild, or by right clicking your tackel box (reward of a fish flingers game).
5. If properly played, each game gives you around 18k xp, plus 4 medals and bunch of tokens (you need the tokens and medals for the reward of tackle box). Or alternatively, you can use the tokens to exchange for raw fish. The raw fish you can obtain, are the highest two fish you can catch for your level.
6. Each games lasts for 15 minutes.
7. There are four locations for fish: Docks, Lake, River, Beach
- Docks to the east and west of the starting place
- Lake and River are directly to the north of the podium. Lake is the west section, River is the east section. Both are seperated by a thin line.
- Beach, Run all the way to the north
8. There are 6 types of fishes, 8 kinds of bait, 6 kinds of hooks, and 6 ranges.
9. Goal is to catch as many fishes as you can for the xp. Medals require little strategy.

How to play with the cc

1. Join the cc atleast 5-7 minutes before the game.
2. You can join the game by talking to the fisherman, at one of the 3 locations -- outside fishing guild, inside fishing guild or near catherby fishing spots
3. Before you join, ask him for a hint, and then join the game.
4. Now report your clues to the cc. If fisherman says "smelly bass is in river, and likes wriggly creatures especially brown ones"; you report as "/bass/river/brown wriggly creatures"
5. Some ranked person will compile all the participants clues. Each participant gets only one clue.
6. If you are good with clues, go ahead and try to get 100% rating for at least one fish and report in cc.
7.Or else, just wait for the 100% report.

How to interpret the reports

100% rating means you used the correct combination of bait, hook and weights.

1. A 100% report has the fish name, location, bait, hook type, and weights.
2. A 100 % report example -- "Bass/river/Grey moth/standard/013"
3. If someone says pike is 199 , it means pike is the heaviest fish (we need this information for medals).
4. There are 6 types of fishes, 8 kinds of bait, 6 kinds of hooks, and 6 ranges. None of the bait/hooks/ranges are repeated for two fish.
5. To select range, you need to choose combination of weights: small, medium and large
6. So if report say 013, it means: 0 small weights, 1 medium weight, and 3 heavy weights.
7. It's better to catch a type of fish as soon as a ranked person confirms the 100% rating for a particular fish.
8. 5 minutes before game ends all 100% reports for all 6 kinds of fish are read. If you talk during this, you will be kicked. No exceptions.

How to get all 4 medals

1. Objective of the game is to get maximum fish, and all 4 medals.
2. You get 4 medals as follows
a. One for catching 3 types of fish.
b. One for catching all 6 types of fishes.
c. One for ensuring, atleast 80% of the fish you caught in each type are 100% rating. This is required for all 6 fish
so if you catch 10 of pike, atleast 8 of them should be 100% rating.
d. One for ensuring 80% of all the fish you caught are of the heaviest fish (at 100% rating).
So if you catch total 100 fishes, atleast 80 of them should be the heaviest fish reported (i.e the 199 kind of fish)
3. To ensure that you get all 4 medals, wait for the reports.
a. Make sure you catch ONLY ONE of all types of fish at 100% rating. That way you satisfy the first three medal rules.
b. Say if someone mis reports and by accident you catch a fish at 66% rating or so (not 100%), the make sure you catch more fish of that kind at full rating to satisfy the 80% rule. Say if you catch 2 pike at 35% by accident, wait for correct report and fish another 8 pikes at full rating.
c. Now to get the fourth medal, wait for report of heaviest fish, and catch that fish only for the reminder of the game. Say if pike is the heaviest: catch 1 salmon, 1 bass, 1 cod, 1 trout,1 herring at 100% rating, and for the remaining game focus only on pikes at full rating.
