I was going to do this quest for the cape you get as a reward (+12 prayer on it) but...gulp...

Nel's max hp: 95

Nomad's max hit: 98

Nel's hp after Nomad's max hit: -3

...

Good luck questers :P

i think his max hit = 1 less than your hp lvl
so his max on you would be 94 i believe

So far it isn't *too* bad I tried ranging (ruby(e)), was wearing simply black d'hide and restores/brews and nearly killed him.

You're pro though Garn.

Took me close to 20 tries, as I only had 90 prayer (no soul split or turmoil), 90 summoning (no pak yak), and 76 herblore (no extreme potions).

Got really close with dds/whip, ended up using ruby bolts (e) for most of the fight (gotta love those hits for 75) switching to diamond bolts (e) when he goes berserk at the end.

Plus I used really noob gear: black dhide, archer helm, snakeskin boots (are you laughing yet?), glory, no ring, unholy book, rune cbow, ava's accumulator.

I'm just glad it's over.

I drank 4 brew sips then 1 (normal) restore sip as it restores more than a super restore, and also had 3 super restores in stead of 3 (normal) restores so I could restore prayer (these are sipped after 3 brews though).

And when using brews/restores if you keep auto-retaliate on you can actually time alot of your sips so they don't change the time you attack (except when he hits high, then brew like mad). Here's roughly how I did it in 2 tries with low-ish stats and cheap gear:

RELEVANT STATS

90 Range
95 Defence
76 Prayer
76 Summoning
95 HP

GEAR

Head: Neitznot helm
Body: Black d'hide
Legs: Black d'hide
Amulet: Fury
Cape: Untrimmed skillcape
Feet: Snakeskin boots
Gloves: N/A
Weapon: Rune C'bow
Shield: Mind/Dragon Sq
Ring: N/A
Quiver: Ruby bolts (e)

INVENTORY

Dragon Sq shield
20 sara pots, 4 restore pots, 3 super restores
BoB: 15 sara pots, 3 restore pots

# of Tries = 2

I sipped a sara pot, restore and ranging potion, banked them and withdrew so I had the above inventory before heading to face him. Upon confronting him I prayed 15% range and defence, stepped out of melee range and just kept attacking him, brewing and restoring when needed and using a super restore instead of normal restore when prayer was needed. When he went into the 'melee frenzy' I switched to the Dragon Sq for more melee def and kept attacking/potting.

Nearly had him first try, but ended up dieing when he was somewhere around the 50hp mark. Easily got him the second time.
