Leveling History

Post by kodirodio » Sun Mar 15, 2009 6:56 pm

We were having fun with this in cc today, so I thought I'd see if it would fly as a game.

What's your level? What were you doing that year?

My current level lis 1981. I was 17, a Jr in High School and I met my husband.

Come on Hid, Jd wasn't really alive in 1791. Will you be flying your car to work, playing rs in an arena instead of online? Use your imagination!

My total lvl is 1905.......................

That was the year i helped Albert Einstein with annus mirabilis, where, together we published papers that laid the foundations of quantum physics, introduced the special theory of relativity, explained Brownian motion and proved the existence of atoms!

What a busy year that was 8-}

1825 My ancestors would be celebrating the election of John Quincy Adams as President against that nepotistic thieving dog Andrew Jackson and those crooks Henry Clay, John Calhoun and William Crawford. **== <:-P

Adams served as the sixth President of the United States from March 4, 1825, to March 3, 1829. He took the oath of office on a book of laws, instead of the more traditional Bible, in order to preserve the separation of church and state.

:P I love history! :-B

1990

We bought our house and my daughter started kindergarten.

There was also a huge controversy in Cincinnati around Robert Mapplethorpe's "The Perfect Moment" art exhibit at the Cincinnati Contemporary Art Centre. The top grossing movie for the year was "“Home Alone”, and the Space Shuttle Discovery placed the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit. But the most important set of events for 1990 were probably when Tim Berners-Lee publishes a formal proposal for the World Wide Web, followed a few days later by the first known web page being written.

Where would we be without Tim and his buddies?!

In 1846 my great great great great grandmother was alive.

Inventions that year were the sewing machine, the rickshaw and the artificial leg. And Neptune's moon Triton was discovered by William Lassell. All the above facts borrowed from the site "brainyhistory.com". lol
