So what is weekly wonder?
The name is sort of misleading. Weekly wonder is a month-long contest in which I take three images of places in Runescape and display them here for everyone to guess. There will be an easy, medium, and hard difficulty picture.
Where did the idea for weekly wonder come from?
I'm sure other people have seen / done this before, but in my previous clan, one of my friends and I did this weekly wonder contest for fun and gave away cash prizes to the winners. It was quite enjoyable to host and to see people guessing!
What are the prizes?
The prizes will be dungeoneering-related in the sense of doing floors with me or getting free leech floors (I know many people detest the skill, but it's really not that bad!). The point of these rewards is also for me to help anybody who needs help or has questions about dungeoneering. My goal is to get as many people to like, understand, and simply enjoy the skill as I can.
Why are you doing this?
Well, I always found this a fun game that was simple and fun, but also difficult. Also, as I'm basically going for 200m Dungeoneering XP now, I figure these rewards would be suitable, as I'm not very rich anyways for monetary rewards =P.
This is Cycle 1 of the Weekly Wonder! Cycle 1 will end October 6, 2012.
The prizes will generally remain consistent and the same, though I am open to suggestions for other rewards (don't make it cash-related though because as I said, unlike some people, I'm not rich).
This contest is a cumulative contest based on cycles and rounds. A cycle lasts 1 month, and a cycle will contain as many rounds as possible, given how quickly each round's locations are found. Once a round has been completed, a new round will begin for that cycle. Finding the hard location awards 2 points. Finding the medium location awards 1.5 points. Finding the easy location awards 1 point. At the end of the cycle, the top 3 finishers (in total points) will win the prizes for that cycle.
*PRIZE RESTRICTIONS*
As I don't do larges that are below floor 30, if you can't access floors that are 30+, send me a message on forums or in-game or contact me somehow and we can come to some agreement about a type of reward apart from a dungeoneering one.
This cycle the prizes* are...
1st Place - 3 Free Leech floors with Kev + any help / questions / tips
2nd Place - 2 Free Leech floors with Kev + any help / questions / tips
3rd Place - 1 Free Leech floor with Kev + any help / questions / tips
PLEASE NOTE: You CAN give away / share your prize with somebody else if you wish.
Also please note that if you don't want to leech, you can simply go along and do the floor too. The "free leech" simply implies you can leech if you want, and I'll be advertising the floor as one with a suicider (me) and a leech.
*Rewards subject to change
1) Find the location of the picture in-game.
2) Take a screenshot of your character at that location (requires a FULL screenshot, showing your entire RS game screen. That way, I can confirm the location and see your character as well as your RSN.)
3) Upload and post the screenshot in a reply on this forum topic.
4) With each screenshot guess you upload, say whether it's for the Easy, Medium, or Hard categories. Do not say anything else about the location or further information that could influence the contest. Make sure you put your RSN in your guessing post.
2) You must reply in-topic. Keep in mind once you guess, other people will be able to see what you've guessed and maybe get ideas... but remember also that if you wait too long, someone else might get it before you can![/color]
*Note*: Sometimes, the hard image may require a quest or have some other requirement to access. It is denoted hard for a reason, but I'll try my best to avoid this so everyone can have the chance to get it.
THE PICTURES ARE TAKEN IN RESIZABLE, MIN, BRIGHTNESS 8, ZOOM 11, NO SHADOWS, LOW DETAIL, LOW PARTICLES, NO GROUND BLENDING, NO GROUND DECORATIONS OR FLICKERING EFFECTS, NO SCENERY SHADOWS OR FOG, LOW WATER DETAIL, and NO TEXTURES.
***EASY***
***MEDIUM***
***HARD***
This round will end when all 3 images have been guessed correctly.
Good luck, and most importantly, have fun!
