Awwww you guys! :x :") Thanks so much. hehehehe Makes me all giggly...

Dr B - nope, I'm the only person using my laptop.

Deb - will prolly still go ahead and do my herblore for bxpw. :) I'll grab the other things once my bank pin is active. So will prolly ask for a trade around Thursday to get ready. Yay!

Thanks again to all. Such special people. I appreciate you.

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I got up and made an even more mean password - and I locked my account when I put it in. LOL Luckily I recovered it easily by e-mail. Was glad to see that they can't change your e-mail address without knowing the registered one - that was pretty cool. I did notice that my recovery questions were gone - not sure how that happened, so I set new ones.

Ahhhh the drama! lol It's really something I don't need. Just last week I came back from the doc because I had so much stress my body started to shut down, and I got an infection - so I'm on antibiotics etc. Started feeling better yesterday, and then that happened.

Anyhoo - will keep on going. There are worse things out there to be upset about. :)

xx

Giving up on RS would be letting them win. Keep up the good work - you've got skills, baby!!!

Thanks Laggy and Lordex! <3 Am sorry for you Lordex. I can't imagine how I'd feel... :/

LOLLLLLLLL Deb. You numpty... :P

And... *drumroll* Here is my automated reply from Jagex!

Hi Alice,

Thanks for getting in touch – looks as though someone else was playing on your account. <-- Ya think?!

I have removed any information set by the hijacker for you, so now we just need to make sure you have everything you need to help prevent this from happening again.

What does that mean above - what info do they set?!

We don't have the system in place to return lost items to accounts. I am sure you can also understand that if we were to do this every time someone lost items, it wouldn't encourage players to keep their accounts secure – as there would be no consequences of not doing so. As a direct result, hijacking activity would thrive and more players would find themselves in this frustrating situation.

The best thing you can do is take a look on our forums. There will be plenty of money making tips on there from other players – you could even start your own thread to ask for advice. If you have lost any items, I am sure you will be able to regain them in no time in game J

Our systems are very secure, however as secure as they are, I am sure you can appreciate that our players have to make sure they keep both their account details and computer secure to guarantee 100% security – as this player gained access to your account using your password, it would seem this wasn't the case for your account.

Don't worry, we you with everything they you need to know to make this happen on our website and forums:

- Our Safety and Security pages – for all the advice you need to keeping your computer and account details secure

- Useful threads on our forums:

o Account Security Tips by Mod Hayley

o Phishing – Scams and Info by Mod Sadie

o I've been Hijacked by Mod Beno, so that if you are hijacked, you can let our security team know as soon as it happens

Let us know if you need anything else – we like to help J

Kind regards,

Mod Abb

Sorry to hear you got hacked :(

Never had any items taken from me, but i have been hacked before. (pin had been cancelled so someone got on)
It is just a game in the end so its strange that people would go so far to me.

Ninja matey - I've seen so many adverts lately for RS items - like bundle deals ... example: a Santa and some godsword for $120. And there were others... so yeah. I guess people take it that far because they probably can't get a freakin' job. And pixels become a means to an end...

Sad.

But like I said earlier... I'm so over it. I didn't ask for anything from anyone. I told Jagex that I really didn't care about the items - I just wanted them to do something about whoever got on to my account - and as you can see from their reply - they obviously didn't even take the time to read my e-mail. No surprises there really.

Anyways. Moving on. I'm excited for bxpw! Woo hooooo!

One more thing - it feels kinda ick knowing that someone else was on my account. ;o lol I was burgled irl a few years ago - they broke in to my stained glass studio and stole a laptop I had in there and some other things. I haven't been back in there much since it happened... just feels that my privacy was invaded. That's what really gets to me...

Ok... /end rant lol

Ally - I am really sorry to hear of your misfortune.
At the end of the day it is just "stuff", they cannot take your achievements from you. Money and items can always be made back.
I too tend to be less vocal than some, but that is one of the lovely things about KoA, it is very chilled and allows you to be as chatty or as quiet as your mood dictates.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do to help.

I was both sorry and shocked to hear this. Shocked enough that your story inspired me to put a pin on my bank acct.

Oh, and I know about the burlged irl thing too. Our home was hit 1 yr ago this past January. My wife and I were gone for our annual anniversary trip, came home to busted back door, broken bedroom windows, broken tv... only a little stolen (a few dollars left on a nightstand, a coin jar from my kids' rooms, and 2 laptops.)

Foolishly, we had talked about getting a home security system prior to leaving, but hadn't. Afterward, we did.

I'm feeling that way now. I've been thinking of getting a pin for my bank acct on rs, but haven't. Must I wait until after an incident to react? Not this time! You've made me proactive instead of reactive.

Am sorry Calvin! Hate when bad things happen...

Am glad you're getting a bank pin now. :) Feels good to at least have helped a couple on here through all this horrible stuff! hehe

Mine has about 3/4 days to go.

Sympathies. I've never had my account hacked but I have had my house burgled and I know the feeling of invasion and general un-safeness. Terrible feelings. They do pass, and you will be ok.

yeah, that's really rubbish Ally, but as far as a hack goes, at least they left quite a lot of your bank. Hope that you stick with us?! And good that you found a clannie to hold on to your stuff :) Gj Debs

Something that would help tremendously is not having the same login name as your display name as well. It's one less thing that they can see and after 35 days of being changed they can no longer view the login name. You should also use an email with 2-step verification such as gmail and never use a hotmail for your recovery email.
