Help!!!

Post by malex » Mon Oct 10, 2011 6:52 am

So here's the thing.. I'm in subway, receive an email on my phone that someone submitted a recovery on my account.
I click the link to cancel this, little did I know that it was a fake link.
That's the problem with mobile phones, I didn't look at the link....

So now this guy is logged into my account, prolly cleaning my 100M+ .
Is there any way I can log him off auto???
Please respond

Thanks

Nightmare! All you can really do is try and find him online with another account. Hope it works out!

Aww that is horrible - am really sorry!

I received the same e-mail a few weeks ago - I clicked on the link, but didn't fill in anything. AND I formatted my PC once I realised that it was a fake site. I was totally paranoid! hehe

They're pretty good at replicating the RS site though, must say. Makes me so mad...

Help, I need somebody,
Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me?

And now my Runescape has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get My runescape Bank Back
Won't you please, please help me.

Think about this: it had to be done by someone who knew both your runescape login and the email account you have linked to your account. How many people know both? This is not something that a total stranger could get from anywhere in the runescape interface. How many rs players could uncover both? Probably not a huge number.

I don't think that is the case here Grid, he stated he recieved a fake e-mail via his mobile phone saying someone was recovering his account, when he "logged in" thru the link he actually gave his account info to a 3rd party phishing site. :-(

Ah, you are right. This could have been like one of those phony bank phishing letters that you get for every bank in the country. Still, it is a good idea to switch email accounts now and again as the spammers and phishers find them.

The lesson is:-

Don't log into websites, that others can actually see your e-mail, with the same e-mail you use for Runescape....................
