Mute/Ban System Confusion

Post by Torri » Sat Oct 01, 2011 11:56 am

I have been dunging all night (it's now 6:53am) and haven't so much as said a word other than "Thx for floors guys :)". About 5 minutes ago when I tried to speak, it told me that I had been muted for "breaking a rule" for two days. I just logged off to check what exactly I had done (since I've ONLY been dunging for about a week now) and it has nothing there.

It has the two pillars and only says this below them:

"This pillar is in the green zone. You currently have no offences in the pillar. If you continue to abide by the rules, you will not receive any bans.
This pillar is in the green zone. You currently have no offences in the pillar. If you continue to abide by the rules, you will not receive any mutes."

So now I can't speak in game and there's no explanation? Could this be an error due to their updating the chat system?

It's for the best we don't hear you whining and going on and on and on :D

Have you asked to see the evidence?

Andy

There's no offense listed to ask for evidence :s

What about the appeal procedure? None of that either? It may be a brand spanking new offence that just happened?

sounds like a mute from a player-mod, I had one of those once, same exact thing. Although I certainly know why I got mine ;)

and also, I couldn't appeal either nor did anything show up on the "pillars" area.

Are you sure you didn't let out a little swear word? We do know what your like you know!

If it's a PMOD mute, Jagex review them all anyway, if it's proved to be wrong, demand a free months play for muting you for no reason!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo don't be silly! Just wait a while and calm down a bit. There is probably a perfectly good explanation. Have you tried posting on the Jagex forums?

Pmods can be stupid sometimes and it sounds like thats the only way you could have got muted. Perhaps some evidence will pop up within the day.

I think that PMod mutes are reviewed by Jagex (?) and they could lose their modship by falsely muting.

Yes, many examples of pmods abusing their powers and being relieved of modship by Jagex.

It's been almost 12 hours and still no info on the Jagex site. It would seem that a pmod makes the most sense. *sigh*
