Ancient Effigies

Post by Dr Brad » Tue Jun 15, 2010 3:59 pm

The Ancient Effigies Distraction and Diversion was released today:

http://www.runescape.com/kbase/guid/ancient_effigy

I've been reading some of the RSOF threads on ancient effigies. See, for example,

Quick find code: 15-16-950-61137047
Quick find code: 15-16-606-61136965

Apparently, after completing and using the dragonkin lamp you recieve the following message in the chat window, "You are awarded xxxx [skill] expierence, but at what price?"

People are speculating that there's something ominous about using the effigies. Like, releasing the dragonkin.

It is said that you can hold more than 1 effigy at a time.

No matter the update, there are always people on the forum speculating that has something to with the dragonkin :D

I'm bitter that Jagex has spent $50+ million of RS subscriptions developing other games instead of improving RS. If you're reading one of my posts and I even allude to Dungeoneering as a "skill" instead of minigame, keep that in mind.

perhaps not something we should think about.
at the end of WGS, we see three Kin. Perhaps it could be like the Dag Kings. Now imagine that with three creatures that are stronger than nomad and multi-combat to hit everyone in the room at once.

You can indeed have multi-effigies at the same time. Does anyone know if you can bank the lamps and get more effigies to save them up?
Classic: Combat 084 - 1134 Total Level.
Pre-Eoc Combat 121 - 2288 Total Level.

Retired fall of 2012. Goodluck Koa! :)

I am told by our fellow Mumble KoA clannies that if you want effigy assistance, one of the best places to get this is to go to the Daemonheim lobby (W117), call out that you need effigy assistance. (I hear it's pretty crowded there.) If someone is able to assist you (see skills below), then they will seek to trade you. This is their indicating to you that you should request an assist from them.

Skills that can be assisted:
Construction
Cooking
Crafting
Farming
Fletching
Herblore
Smithing
Runecrafting

The remaining skills can NOT be assisted.

Taken from rs wiki page... "Players can possess multiple effigies. They do not stack in the bank." http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_effigy

Just a thought - you can't gain assistance for hunting effegies but you can give yourself a +9 level boost at Oog Loog pools :-)

Also for the dragonkin lamps at the end, the exp you get is your skill level^3/20.
For example, if you have 85 Runecrafting and want to use it on that, it would be 85^3/20= 30.7k exp roughly.

I was told today in game that if ppl want to assist or need assistance with RC effigies, they should go to the nature altar in W36 and use the CC: ffdn

For what it's worth...

Or feel free to pm me, i will cover all your rc assist needs if i'm not maxed. :-D With ffdn, they ask that you enter their cc "ffdn" to search out an assist. Just for informational purposes.
Also, w70 zmi altar is another good option for high level rc assist.

There is a clan for the just this thing. Join "assist clan" chat and just state your needs. Like any of these other suggestions it is strictly "the luck of the draw" if you can get your assist.
