Hey Team,
I know that a few of you have had some questions regarding RuneFest 2018, so we've got some answers for you in a handy little FAQ. Check it out below:

The Venue:
Why has RuneFest moved to Farnborough?
It was a tough decision to move RuneFest out of London, but it was a decision that came about following a number of factors:
• In 2017, RuneFest outgrew its previous homes at Battersea Evolution & Namco Funscape leading us to the decision to look for a larger venue to accommodate more players at both the Friday Night Party and Runefest itself...
• Even with the addition of the Circus tent, we didn’t have room to do everything we wanted at Battersea last year and, with the number of people attending RuneFest on the rise, we couldn’t fit everyone and everything in the same space this year.
• Namco Funscape also has a limited capacity and couldn’t accommodate everyone who wanted to attend the Night Before Party. We want to make the Night Before open to everyone!
Did you look at other locations?
• We looked at numerous venues across the UK, in various cities, however Farnborough proved to be the best choice for us due to its availability and location – just 30 minutes from London.
• We have some big plans for how we are going to use the venue, thanks to your feedback from last year, and other venue options wouldn’t have given us the flexibility that Farnborough does.
Why is RuneFest not in the USA?
• The key reason is that we need to bring over 200 J-Mods to to present, produce and staff RuneFest as we know it as a UK event. Currently, those guys give up two days of their time to make RuneFest happen, however flying that many J-Mods to the USA would have a profound impact on their time away from the studio.
• However, we are working on plans to bring community events to the USA (And other countries outside of the UK) in the future.
Is there parking?
• One of the big benefits of Farnborough is that you can drive right there! There are 3,500 parking spaces which are free to players over the Friday & Saturday of RuneFest 2018
Hotel Questions:
Are there hotels nearby?
There are around 2,500 hotel rooms within 15 minutes of the venue. Some of the best options are:
• Village Hotel, Farnborough
• The Falcon Hotel, Farnborough
• Travelodge Farnborough Central, Farnborough
• SACO Aparthotel, Farnborough
• SA Today Apartments, Farnborough
• Holiday Inn, Farnborough
• Lakeside Continental Hotel, Frimley

• Premier Inn Fleet, Fleet

Friday Night Questions:
Is there a Friday Night Party?
• Yes - The Friday night party will be something special this year! It will be held in the same venue as RuneFest on Friday evening, and will be included in EVERY RuneFest ticket for 2018!
General Questions:
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
• Yes - we require all attendees to have valid photo ID which matches the information on their ticket. Valid ID includes passports, driving licenses, military ID, identity cards, age verification cards with a valid hologram.
• Event attendees must be aged 16 or over, or otherwise be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18.
What can I bring into the event?
• The only things you need to bring are yourself, your ticket, valid ID, and any spending money! You're also welcome to bring your cosplay outfits and props (but please make sure they are safe!).
We do not permit the following into the event (and they may be confiscated by event security/police):
• Alcohol, drugs, or any kind of illegal substance
• Pyrotechnics, explosives etc
• Weapons or objects which may cause damage to the venue or other attendees
• Personal food and drink (without prior agreement from event security, usually permitted for people with severe allergies etc)
How do I book a ticket?
• Tickets are not available yet but we will be announcing them soon. When we do they will be purchasable through EventBrite - please keep an eye on Runefest.com and our social media channels for more details in the coming weeks!
Can I use Runescape bonds to purchase my Runefest ticket?
• Unfortunately not - there were a number of issues surrounding this service which has meant we are not able to offer this option anymore. Instead tickets will be purchasable through Eventbrite using credit/debit cards and paypal.
What's the refund policy?
• Unfortunately, we are not able to refund tickets for any reason. Please be sure you can attend before making your purchase!
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
• You can bring your ticket as a print out, on the EventBrite app, or on your phone as an image/PDF. Provided the QR code and your registrant details are legible then you can attend!
Can I update my registration information?
• Yes! If you'd like update any details on your ticket, please just log into your EventBrite account and change the details.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
• No, all information on your ticket must match the attendee, and their valid photo ID.
