Re: Dimension of the Damned
Here's the rules for the finale
Dimension of the Damned
The Finale
The beginning of the new Dimension is mere days away and the top of the crop will be proceeding to the finale, a 90 minute showdown where death is permanent and the winner takes all.
Read on for information pertaining to the finale, and how the rules will change.
Invites
The top 1000 player accounts from the hiscores will receive an inbox message and an email confirming your entry to the finale. Only accounts receiving these messages will be able to join.
Joining and Logging Rules
The Finale will begin at 18:00 game time on Saturday 28th October.
Players will be able to log in to the servers from 17:30 game time, and will be locked inside Falador until the Finale begins. If you have not logged in by 18:00, you will not be able to login and will miss out on the competition (you'd still receive your "the damned" title).
If you die while the finale is ongoing, your run is over and you won't be able to rejoin the gamemode. Similarly, if you logout, you are counted as dead and won't be able to rejoin.
Game Rules
On logging in to the Finale, you'll be back to the basics - all gear you earned in the qualification stage is gone. However, your tool belt items will be upgraded to mithril level.
You'll see more zombies in the Finale, more hordes and more bosses.
In the finale, you need to fight to stay alive. You will be earning points for your scoreboard every minute you're alive. You only score points for killing zombies. Every five minutes the bottom 70 scores will be Culled - killed off. To stay alive, you need to kill and improve your score. Constantly!
The Culling only kills to bring the player count down to a set number. For example, if the Culling is due to kill 70 players, but 15 players die to other sources, then the Culling will only kill 55. You will be told through your interface if you're due to be Culled.
Whilst gathering your gear, killing zombies to keep your score up and keeping yourself alive, you'll also have to contend with the Miasma - a brutal corruption of air which can kill you if you stand too long inside it. This miasma will be closing in, forcing every finale player together into a pre-determined area throughout the competition.
That's it! Reckon you could make it?
