Calling all RS veterans...

Talking to my 2 eldest just now with regards to being able to assign a resource to a key to drop it for power leveling. I said im sure ive read, it used to work that if you were for example mining, and your pack got full the items dropped at your feet. I was quickly shot down (darn know it all kids),and as i only started playing in 2008 im turning to the members of KoA who have been around since the old days, who could settle this and maybe prove im not going senile. :D

Yes this used to be the case, could have been as early as classic.
