In the EOC world, the chaotic shield labels don't make sense to me:
Eagle-eye kiteshield -- "ranged" -- yet, when you wield it, under "defending", it's listed as 50 melee, 160 magic, 100 ranged
Why does it say "ranged"? Shouldn't it be labelled "magic" instead? Magic is the highest score.
Same for the others:
Chaotic kiteshield -- "melee" -- when you wield it, 100 melee, 50 magic, 160 ranged
Farseer kiteshield -- "magic" -- when you wield it, 160 melee, 100 magic, 50 ranged

Re: What's up with chaotic shields?
If i am not mistaken (and I may be), this is based on the combat triangle.
A "ranged" shield would have high magic defense and low melee
a "melee" shield should have high ranged defense and low magic
a "magic" shield would have melee defense and low ranged
A "ranged" shield would have high magic defense and low melee
a "melee" shield should have high ranged defense and low magic
a "magic" shield would have melee defense and low ranged

No problem.Dr Brad wrote:Thanks for the explanation.
Like I said, I may be wrong, but this is my thoughts based on what I have read elsewhere

Agree! I think we have always used the basis of the EOC triangle, whether we realized it or not., at least to some extent.Damion wrote:If i am not mistaken (and I may be), this is based on the combat triangle.
