Tree-Shaking Scrimshaw and Crystal Trees

I thought I would just share my experiences with the tree shaking scrimshaws I bought from the GE
I paid 444k for the 1st scrimshaw and with the rewards from geodes and the imps I made the money back that I paid (Keeping the gems uncut, so obviously for a profit with buying these you would need to sell the gems uncut, however maybe if I could catch all the imps then maybe I could have made a profit with cutting the gems.
I am only 77 hunter so I missed out on catching 2 dragon imps, 2 zombie imps and 1 kingly imp on the first
In total I got 457k worth of gems and imp rewards

1st: 457k (13k profit(Paid 444k)) ROW worn
2nd: 400k (44k loss(Paid 444k)) No ROW worn
3rd: 460k (27k profit(Paid 433k)) ROW worn
Got Crystal Triskelion Fragment 1 on this scrimshaw
4th: 796k (363k profit(Paid 433k)) ROW worn
5th: 563k (563k profit(Provided by Imp)) ROW + rabbits foot worn

Hey that's not too bad especially if you can make your own in pop (which i think last longer if you do?)

A Superior Tree-shaking Scrimshaw (made in pop) last 4 hours and increases the chance of a geode/Essence through Kingly impling by 400%. The regular Tree-shaking Scrimshaw you can buy from GE lasts 3 hours and increases the chance by 300%. It takes 10 ancient bones & Level 90 fletching to make in pop. They are definitely worth it, especially if you have a good Hunter level.

To add to Mystic's info, yesterday I made & used a Superior Tree-shaking scrimshaw (4-hr/400% increased drop chance), NO ring of wealth, turned scrim off when banking. I have 99wc/99 hunt but I don't know if our wc levs make a difference to type of gems dropped or not.

I used GE mid-range price from Tipit:
Diamonds - 28 @ 7.8k = $218.4k
Sapphs - 12 @ 1.5k = $18k
Ems - 12 @ 3k = $36k
Rubys - 16 @ 4.3k = $68.8k
D-stone - 4 @ 15.5k = $62k
TOTAL = $341.2k profit

I also got 2 Crystal Triskelion fragments!

Impling drops: 11 soul runes; 75 pouches; 10 gold bars; 1 Royal shirt; tooth 1/2 of key; sinister key; 4 baby dragon bones; 6 black d-hide; 6 amulet of power; 1 unicorn horn; 1 dragon longsword; 4 oak planks; 1 splitbark helm; 60 water runes; 3 ring of forging; 20 pure ess; 1 magic log; 1 cactus spine; 1 splitbark gauntlets; 4 cut diamonds; 8 cosmic runes; 1 snapegrass; 30 air runes; 1 curry leaf; 1 rune bar; 1 dragon dagger.

Items I dropped: 2 mith picks; 2 harralander seeds; 1 gold ore; 1 mind talisman; 4 chaos runes; 28 body runes; 4 lava runes.

Mystic - have you noticed that certain trees drop more of a type of gem than the others? Like Karamja tree drops more diamonds or CW drops more sapphs?

Next time I'll do WITH a ring of wealth to compare with your results. So many variables to keep track of but maybe between the 2 of us we can figure this out, lol..

I havnt really taken into account where I have been doing it as I tally it all up at the end as I use my gem bag and just stay until scrimshaw ends, and obviously more than one tree is used each scrimshaw, but yes I have noticed sometimes that I have had more rubies, diamonds and dstones by a long way.

I did the same thing I did yesterday but this time it's WITH a Ring of Wealth & I kept track of the prices of impling drops. It doesn't seem like there's much difference with or w/out a Ring of Wealth. It's difficult to tell until we do more experimenting. However, in my opinion, the tree-shaking scrims are definitely worth it! Here's the results:

Diamonds - 21 @ $7.8k = $163,800 vs 28 w/o ring
Rubys - 16 @ $4.3k = $68,800 vs 16 w/o ring
Ems - 14 @ $3k = $42,000 vs 12 w/o ring
Sapphs - 15 @ $1,500 = $22,500 vs 12 w/o ring
D-stones - 1 @ $15,500 - $15,500 vs 4 w/o ring
TOTAL = $312,600

*I missed 3 geodes so don't know what those were.

Once again, I got 2 Crystal Triskelion fragments!

Impling Drops: 211 air runes; 60 water runes; 1 rune warhammer; 5 gold bars; 16 black d-hides; 7 blood runes; 4 Ring of Life; 25 pouches; 5 (500g) granite; 6 big bones; 1 purple stripy pirate shirt; 13 death runes; 50 fire runes; 1 curry leaf; 1 Loop half of key; 2 rune bars; 1 snapegrass; 2 onyx bolts; 20 pure ess. TOTAL = $201,000 (approx)

Dropped Items: 1 purple bandana; 1 jangerberry seed; 12 tarromin leafs; 2 mith picks; 2 opal machetes; 8 air talismans; 1 gold ore; 1 candle lantern; 1 mind talisman; 28 body runes. TOTAL = -$5,000 (approx)

TOTAL PROFIT = $513,600 **Not including $443,925 from Triskelion Key loot
GRAND TOTAL = $957,525

With these scrimshaws, is it possible to afk and still make profit? I'm assuming not. I'm just wondering because I usually like to put my sound effects up and afk woodcutting while I watch a movie or something.

Can't really afk because the geodes don't stay on ground very long at all which sucks. I don't know if they make a sound when they drop because I have sound off, lol...

I have also forgot about wearing the rabbits foot - maybe that helps the geode drop rate too

EDIT: It does help the drop rate as it would with bird nests for other trees

After chopping a crystal tree for an hour, I received no geodes or imps....I was shocked!

I made a superior tree shaking scrimshaw and wore a rabbits foot....here are the results!

After 1 hour: 1 Dragonstone, 8 Diamonds, 10 Rubies, 6 Emeralds, 4 Sapphires, 83 dragon bones, 4 oak logs, 1 coconut, 1 harrlander seed, 1 rune knife, 1 unicorn horn, snakeskin boots, gold ore, 25 spirit pouches, 20 rune ess and a pirate top! A total of 455k not including the uncut gems in the gems bag!

Will update after the next hour

Hour 2: all of the above + 1 Dragonstone, 1 Diamond, 4 Rubies, 4 Emeralds, 2 Sapphires, 1 Blue charm, 6 Gold charms, 6 Dragon bones, 40 pure ess, Dragonskin boots and a lamp! This adds up with the first hour to 520k so far!

For what it's worth...

I have used 6 full superior tree-shaking scrimshaws with rabbit's foot at crystal trees since they came out (24 hours worth of chopping).

My drops so far:

737 Geodes (avg. 31/hr.) - 110 sapphire, 145 emerald, 230 ruby, 210 diamond, 39 dragonstone, 1 each of the triskelion pieces (est. 1/250 chance*)

456 implings (avg. 19/hr.) - 118 essence, 85 eclectic, 68 spirit, 57 nature, 48 magpie, 36 ninja, 18 pirate, 11 dragon, 12 zombie, 3 kingly

I haven't kept track of the profit from this, since I've been doing it mainly for the triskelion pieces (although I do have a breakdown of every impling loot received). Once I get back to this, I will try to remember to log profit as well...
