Hmmm ... I'm not surprised. I'm even beginning to wonder if draconic visages exist after slaying 300+ and nothing to show but stuff I've previously posted.

I calculated my drop rates from 24 independent drop logs on the official RuneScape forums and fansite forums (Each log contains at least 2000 kills, and the deviation from my final answer is within a reasonable margin). The total number of King Black Dragons killed included in these logs is 927, number of Draconic visage drops is 28. Since we are talking about Java, I automatically rounded the final answer to one out of a power of two.

As of today I have killed around 1200 iron dragons with no luck of a visage. it might just be my bad luck or the drop rate is really really low. At around kill 860 i got legs, and 930 i got a skirt.

11 mage levels so far on steel dragons, no visage.

usually get 1 dragon item per trip tho, but they are worth so little now they dont make a profit on the runes and anti-fires.. 1 trip for me = 5k attack runes (chaos with guants or bloods depending on how im feeling).

I don't really get this. Suppose you'd generate a random number (Math.random()) and then do a binary search for that number in an array of ranges (I would implement it as an array of n+1 doubles starting with a dummy 0.0 for simplicity) in which each range corresponds to the item that will be dropped (this would be a sensible way right?)
There is no reciprocal of a power of 2 in sight
It's not like you'd construct a prefix-tree for the items or something like that (then there would be rounding to reciprocals of powers of 2, but what would you use the tree for anyway?)

What am I missing here..?
