KoA Mini-Olympics

KoA Mini-Olympics

Starting Time:
January 15th, 8:00pm GMT
Ending Time:
January 22nd, 8:00pm GMT
Image
(Time has been discussed with Kaleviplika to replace the skilling week for January)

General Idea:
Ok, so the KoA Mini-Olympics signing up will start now. We have approximately 2 months to gather materials before the start date of the event. Gather as many or few materials as you would like for any skill. We will be playing to 100,000 experience in every skill per person in a group. We will form the groups after a good amount of people sign up and the groups will be randomized (with possible interference if many known awesome skillers all get into the same group). Each player will be able to get over 100,000 experience in a skill that can carry over to another group members lack of experience. Mini-games are all out the window before the start of the Olympics except for Stealing Creation points and/or tools.

I can answer any questions that you have about the KoA Mini-Olympics, so message me on the forums, post here, or private message me in game. Be sure to read the Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ) first to make sure your question hasn't already been asked and answered.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
When do the Olympics start?
January 15th, 8:00pm GMT

When do the Olympics end?
January 22th, 8:00pm GMT

How do I sign up?
Post here and I will add you to the list in this post.

Why are the groups random?
To avoid favoritism and groups that are "too powerful".

Why can't we store mini-game points?
The storing of mini-game points makes this kind of event to be who can spend the most time gathering up points rather than actually working on the skills.

Why can we store Stealing Creation tools, but no other mini-game stuff?
There was a vote to see what method to use Stealing Creation tools, and no limitations was the winning result.

How much experience per person can each group get?
You can gather a maximum of 100,000 experience per person in EVERY skill.

What if one of my group members doesn't do anything in a particular skill?
You can gain more than 100,000 experience, as an individual, to overflow your experience into their experience.

What kind of materials can I save up?
Anything you can gather or make beforehand that doesn't come from mini-games other than Stealing Creation. Examples are unfinished herblore pots, planks, runes, bones, etc.

How many people can participate in the KoA Mini-Olympics?
There is no limit, as long as you're in the clan or a clan friend.

What if my group member does absolutely nothing in the whole week?
Sometimes this happens and if your group member does nothing or almost nothing in the whole week, it's possible we will drop them from your group and it will simply lower your requirement to 100,000 less experience per skill.

Are penguin points allowed?
Yes, but only the penguins achievable during the week of January 15th-22nd.

Are brawling gloves allowed?
No, it's just too much experience for something that isn't always easy to achieve.

Is quest experience allowed?
No, it's unfair to those who have already completed all quests.

Are exp lamps allowed?
The random event lamps are, but diary and quest lamps are not.

What are some fast ways to gain experience?
Check out this topic: http://koaclan.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=1099
(some experience gaining methods are out-dated)

When is the last date we can sign up?
December 15th, that is when the groups will be randomly generated from the signed up members. A couple days before that we will try to make sure everyone signed up still wishes to be in the Mini-Olympics.

Penguins points are allowed, but you can only use the penguins points gathered during the week of the Mini-Olympics.

So, if you plan it right, you will get 2 sets of penguins in the one week.

Are winners determined by who maxes everything first, or is 100k the minimum and winners are the ones who get the most above that?

I'm gonna hold off committing to this till I see how my play time is closer to the event.

I would be interested in this event, but the thought of trying to get 100k of construction xp fills me with dread - easily my least favourite skill :-(

Hi Beckiebabe. I hear your plight on construction, but there is a fast, fairly low cost way to gain some good xp at your level.

Assuming you have at least a normal butler, removing and rebuilding oak larders in your kitchen, while your butler un-notes for you (goes to the bank and collects 20 planks per trip) is fairly fast and head-ache free.

Even better if you are able to get your hands on a clay hammer, then the xp will fly by.
Please see me in game if you need further explanation :)

Yep, you can get 2 penguins in the week.

The winners will be those who max out as much as possible, if not everything. Though I think we should all aim for maxing everything out in the week :).
