Daylight Savings Time Changes

Post by Dr Brad » Sun Oct 28, 2012 7:34 pm

The board will now automatically update to your daylight savings dependant on your timezone,

please check they are correct in your user control panel.

The information below is no longer relevant.

Last night, Europe changed to Standard Time (GMT for UK). North America will change to Standard Time on Sunday, Nov 4th.

What does this mean?....the potential for massive event scheduling confusion! So, to minimize this confusion, once the time standard has happened in your region of the world, access your User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit global settings and click the Summer Time/DST is in effect radio button. Then, remember to click on the Submit button. Confirm the correct time in the right upper corner, where it should say It is currently....__date & time__.

For example, for the next week, UK and Eastern North America times will differ by 4 hours. Once North America sets its clocks back an hour next Sunday, then we will be 5 hours apart again.

So, after you've changed your global settings (and assuming the people who post events to the KoA calendar have done this too), you should be able to rely on the times listed at the clan calendar.

Saturday --> Sunday, October 27, 2013: Europeans switch clock back 1 hour leaving BST for GMT. See first post.

(Deep - can you fix the image?)

P.S. North America switches on November 3rd leaving DST for Standard Time.
