it's always worth a spyware check. spybot is the ownage
what lights do you have on your modem?
does your link light or whatever it may be called on yours go off? or flash different colour..

that's pretty much going to be a line fault or an ISP problem, it's not your computer.

ok is your dsl connected in the 1st socket in ur house and how long is the cable from socket to modem?
cant find a picture but does your socket have a faceplate on it?

nah its another socket so no it isnt the master socket..err the cable is only about 2 metres

okies it is sounding more and more like an isp problem, still a few things we cant try, but have you called your ISP.
It will be worth asking them to change your profile because you are getting frequent disconnects. You will lose a bit of speed, but will disconnect far less often.
do you know how to access your modem from internet explorer?

in answer to phoning my ISP, no as its my mums account and she has to do it but wont.

oh well, to access your browser you would need to type in 192.168.1.1 in your browser, but really it will only be useful to check settings, but every modem is different ISp is probably best people to talk u through that as they may require certain settings.
It is definately something that can be fixed with a profile change by your isp.
what make is your modem there is one last thing we can try.. if not rest is down to your isp.
