Re: An unacceptable sickness pervading this clan.
While I have never even heard of brown sauce before this thread I have done 30 sec of internet research and can only conclude one thing. You are all crazy, as evidence I bring to the table (lol pun) my first and only piece of evidence.
This is Bacon.
This is Bacon.

That is commonly known as streaky bacon in this neck of the woods or if done crispy and put in salads it's picnic bacon (I buy mine from M&S in packets all ready cooked ;) ) Picnic bacon is great on a butty with cheese and brown sauceThis is Bacon.
Now have I got a new strain of the virus or does it cause people to eat brown sauce with any type of bacon

No sauces or other liquid stuff except butter. If I use something for topping it will be 'Pickled Jalapeno Rings'Fluff wrote:@ Jax - Would you like some brown sauce on that?

EEWWWW - just what I want to smell - sweaty bacon....NOT!
Dr Melic's pic is what I think of when I hear "bacon". The pics y'all in the UK showed as bacon looked more like ham slices or something, lol.
It's fun how the same word can mean different things - makes life interesting!

Re: An unacceptable sickness pervading this clan.
We are true bacon connoisseurs in the UK. The last time I had a friend from the U.S. visit they were shocked at the many varieties of bacon at our local supermarket. That's not even including things like pancetta and lardons which are comparative newcomers.syfyqueen wrote:EEWWWW - just what I want to smell - sweaty bacon....NOT!

I think there are around 5 or 6? different cuts of bacon.. that you would see in rashers here, from back and sides and belly, whereas in the U.S. bacon is primarily belly?
Then salt cured - dry cured - sweet cured etc.
smoked - (inc a heap of different ways of smoking at most supermarkets - oak, maple, honeywood, applewood, beechwood etc.)
unsmoked
not that I've counted but my local supermarket has 81 types (not brands) of bacon on sale.
that's not including ham - although I think what we call gammon has some crossover into what you call ham? generally ham is the same here as there. aka hind leg.

Re: An unacceptable sickness pervading this clan.
They do not sell Brown sauce in this region, probably because the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) simply will not allow it. They do however sell MSG. So I leave you with this logic, the Brown stuff is obviously worse for you then MSG (the government wouldn't lie). Ketchup is full of heart healthy licopene, so if you add it to bacon you will no doubt increase your life expectancy. Everyone knows that that if you add something healthy to something not healthy, the ill effects are cancelled out. This is why I drink plenty of V8 with my Vodka.

your logic is undeniable Dr D!
See yet another doctor who urges you brown saucers to give up this evil addiction!
100% of doctors agree - Brown sauce is dangerous!
1 out of 1 people surveyed, with doctor in their username agree. Brown sauce may or may not be dangerous, check with your own health official to see if brown sauce will have negative effects on your health. doctor is purely a username and KoA provide no guarantees that any doctor in KoA has any real qualifications. Also Oob is a noob and he is wrong,
