our age limit isn't a maturity filter, it's there so we can as adults, socialise with other adults, for many reasons, maturity not being the reason. If that was the case I'm sure we'd have a very strong argument for raising the limit to 30+ or 40+.

But believe me some of the most difficult members, some of the people we've had to ban, have been well over 21.

The age limit is so that we have an all adult clan, so we can be free to behave more as adults.

Some 18 year olds are our some of our very best members, I'm sure there have been some 16/17 year olds that have tried to apply that may have had far beyond the maturity level required, in other PKing clans I've been in there has been kids that have been leading succesful clans that have a maturity far beyond their years, probably above mine.

yes maturity tends to improve with age, however it all kind of depends from the base people start at, some people are extremely immature as kids, and become just immature with greater age. I know some of our under 21's are more mature than I.

I Basicly agree with what Deep has said so far.

There just are no tests or (age)requirements that can reliably test someone's maturity. The only true maturity test is how you behave while socialising with other adults. I have met 13yr olds that were more adult then me, and 40-50yr olds that acted like 13yr olds.

I personally like interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds. Maturity/immaturity, high combat/skilling, humor is more of a perspective thing. I would be real bored if I hear same style of conversations day in and day out, or have similar kind of events.

With such a large cc, you will definitely find atleast few who will share your views. My opinion is interact more with people who share your interests, try to understand and learn if you don't agree, and ignore if you really don't like it. Live and Let Live.

The more restrictions we have (apart from being legal adult age), the more risks we run into segregating ourselves into a monolithic clan. KOA so far does a good job of having flexible boundaries on allowing all adults with such wide diversity of age, continents and backgrounds, and yet keep out real problem makers.

I have nothing significant to add to the discussion...you all have made fine points, and I am happy with the leadership and direction of the clan. This is by far the best clan I have been associated with. :D

A few posts ago someone made a point about the difference between cc and mumble. I hadn't considered that, and found it very thought provoking. Personally, I enjoy CC and avoid mumble...it doesn't appeal to me at all. Now I am wondering why I have this bias. One thing I enjoy about CC is following several conversations at once, and the generally lighthearted nature of the conversations. CC is just too cumbersome for serious communication. I am sure mumble is much better for sharing real life stories and debating real life issues, but I like the CC. It is relaxing and doesn't distract me from the game. (Well, sometimes it does...I am sure we have all died once or twice while typing a messge to someone. )

Anyway, enough rambling...back to RS!

no offense to anyone under 21
I would rather see the minimum age as 21 too, although I too mean no offence to anyone younger. I just feel that I could join any clan and many members would be around the 18/19 age mark but I have chosen to join an adult clan because I wish to talk to people who are more mature. It is true that sometimes adult males behave in an immature way - they do say that men never grow up! - and if cc is full of them, I normally leave for a while. Age is certainly no guarantee of maturity, but it is more likely to be present in someone who has been around for longer.

I know I am in the minority here and that there will be no change to the current situation, but this is my opinion.

Red Monkey held the 'honour' before me and, as far as I know, he is a man. But I could be mistaken... ;)

Your trouble making remark is duly noted tho.... :P
