Cheeky tenant sneaks important clause into landlord's lease without him knowing

The tenant was sent their contract and thought it would be a great idea to make one important change to it

Happy Birthday: tenant's hilarious change in contract clause asking for a birthday cake

A cheeky tenant who was sent a contract to sign by their landlord has shared their own particular prank online.

And if he reads the small print, the property owner may get a bit of a surprise.

The tenant shared online how they realised they could alter the text of their contract before signing it.

Reddit user GloriousGherkins says they realised the contract had been sent as a Word document rather than a locked pdf file so thought they would try their luck - by sticking in a BIRTHDAY CAKE clause.

This crafty addition to the contract states that the landlord must provide birthday cake every year to the renters.

Newly amended, Number 16 on the clause reads: "Lessor shall provide birthday cake for Lessee(s) in the weekend closest to their birthdays, which are June 7 and February 17."

They helpfully add: "Vanilla cake is not acceptable."

Since the post appeared one day ago, it has had almost 2 million views .

Other Reddit users have posted their views in the comments section with user Iputthehotinpsychotic commenting "This is awesome", and another user phastings commenting "You added cake but chose to not edit out mowing the lawn??"
